A young and unskilled fairy godmother that ventures out on her own to prove her worth by tracking down a young girl whose request for help was ignored. What she discovers is that the girl has now become a grown woman in need of something very different than a "prince charming."
Godmothered is a pleasant but formulaic fairy-tale comedy that subverts the prince-charming trope in a mildly fresh way. The plot is predictable but functional, carried by charming performances from Isla Fisher and Jillian Bell. Cinematography is standard Disney+ fare with little visual ambition. The ending wraps up too neatly and conventionally for its own subversive premise, undercutting some of the goodwill built earlier.
