The Quartile Take

Riders of Justice is a sharp, singular Danish film that defies easy genre classification — it blends dark comedy, grief, trauma, and vigilante thriller with real intelligence. Mads Mikkelsen anchors an exceptional ensemble cast with a typically restrained yet powerful performance. The plot is inventively structured around themes of statistics, causality, and coincidence, giving it genuine philosophical weight beneath the action. Its novelty is high because the tonal and thematic balancing act is genuinely one-of-a-kind. The ending, while emotionally satisfying, wraps things up a touch neatly given the film's otherwise subversive sensibility. Cinematography is competent and occasionally evocative but not a standout element.
