Havoc is a fairly by-the-numbers action thriller built on well-worn genre tropes: corrupt city, jaded cop, rescue mission through criminal underworld. The plot offers little surprise, recycling familiar beats from films like Dredd and The Raid without meaningful reinvention. Tom Hardy anchors the acting with his trademark intensity and physical commitment, elevating what is otherwise a serviceable ensemble. Cinematography leans into stylized neon-drenched darkness competently but without distinction. Novelty is low given the derivative premise and straightforward execution. The ending resolves predictably without emotional or narrative payoff that lingers.
