Rogue City is a serviceable French crime thriller set in Marseille's gang wars, but it treads very familiar territory — corrupt cops, gang rivalries, and a lone moral agent caught in the middle. The plot is predictable and derivative of better entries in the genre. Acting is competent with solid ensemble performances, and the Marseille setting provides reasonable visual texture, but the cinematography doesn't distinguish itself. The ending feels abrupt and unsatisfying, failing to pay off the tension adequately. Overall, it's a middling genre entry with little to set it apart.
