Returning for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts, Harry is stunned to find that his warnings about the return of Lord Voldemort have been ignored. Left with no choice, Harry takes matters into his own hands, training a small group of students to defend themselves against the dark arts.
Order of the Phoenix is a competent but somewhat truncated adaptation of the longest HP book, losing much of Rowling's layered plotting in compression. The acting ensemble remains solid — Imelda Staunton is a genuine standout as Dolores Umbridge, and Radcliffe handles heavier emotional material with growing confidence — but supporting characters get squeezed. Cinematography under Slawomir Idziak is moodier and darker than prior entries, though not especially distinguished. As the fifth chapter in an established franchise following a well-worn formula, novelty is limited — it's a competent sequel but rarely feels singular. The climactic Ministry of Magic battle and Sirius's death land with reasonable emotional weight, though the resolution feels rushed.
