Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating

The balance of power in four couples’ relationships is upset when the women start using the advice in Steve Harvey’s book, Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man, to get more of what they want from their men. When the men realize that the women have gotten a hold of their relationship “playbook,” they decide that the best defense is a good offense and come up with a plan to use this information to their advantage.

The Quartile Take

Think Like a Man is a competent ensemble romantic comedy that benefits from a likable, energetic cast and a reasonably clever framing device around Steve Harvey's real self-help book. The plot juggles multiple couples with decent balance, though it relies heavily on familiar rom-com beats — misunderstanding-driven conflict, tidy resolutions, and predictable turns. The acting is lively and charming, particularly from Kevin Hart who steals scenes, but the ensemble nature means few characters get meaningful depth. Cinematography is functional and unremarkable, typical of mid-budget studio comedy. Novelty is limited — the book-as-plot-device is a fresh hook but the underlying relationship dynamics are largely conventional. The ending wraps everything up too neatly and quickly, satisfying but forgettable.
