After watching their respective partners die, a cop and a hitman form an alliance in order to bring down their common enemy.
Bullet to the Head is a fairly by-the-numbers buddy action film pairing Sylvester Stallone with Sung Kang. The plot is a formulaic odd-couple revenge thriller with little surprise. Acting is workmanlike — Stallone is in cruise-control mode and the chemistry between leads is uneven. Cinematography is competent and occasionally stylish for the New Orleans setting, directed by Walter Hill with some visual flair. Novelty is low — the premise and execution recycle familiar genre tropes without a distinctive voice. The ending is predictable and wraps up without much impact.
