A black ops soldier seeks payback after she is betrayed and left for dead.
Soderbergh's lean, stylish direction elevates what is otherwise a fairly rote revenge-betrayal narrative. The cinematography is genuinely distinctive — cool, observational, with long unbroken takes and a jazz-inflected score that sets it apart from typical action fare. Gina Carano's real MMA background lends the fight choreography brutal authenticity, though her acting is limited. The plot is serviceable but thin, relying on familiar double-cross conventions, and the ending fizzles rather than lands with impact.
