President Lincoln's mother is killed by a supernatural creature, which fuels his passion to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a gleefully absurd high-concept mashup that earns points for sheer audacity — blending alt-history, horror, and action around one of America's most iconic figures. The cinematography leans into stylized slow-motion action sequences with some visual flair, and the premise is genuinely distinctive enough to stand out. However, the plot is shallow and struggles to balance its pulpy premise with earnest drama, ultimately satisfying neither. The acting is serviceable at best, with Benjamin Walker doing adequate work but most of the cast feeling underused. The ending deflates rather than delivers, wrapping up without the cathartic payoff the premise promises. A fun novelty that doesn't fully capitalize on its wild concept.
