A Castle for Christmas is a formulaic Netflix holiday rom-com that hits every predictable beat: fish-out-of-water protagonist, grumpy-but-charming love interest, picturesque European setting, and a tidy romantic resolution. The Scottish castle setting adds visual charm and the leads (Brooke Shields, Cary Elwes) bring enough charisma to elevate the material slightly above the genre floor. Cinematography captures the Scottish highlands and castle interiors pleasantly but without distinctive visual ambition. The plot is thoroughly by-the-numbers with no surprises, and the ending resolves exactly as expected.
