A mysterious group called Humarize strongly believes in the Quirk Singularity Doomsday theory which states that when quirks get mixed further in with future generations, that power will bring forth the end of humanity. In order to save everyone, the Pro-Heroes around the world ask UA Academy heroes-in-training to assist them and form a world-class selected hero team. It’s up to the heroes to save the world and the future of heroes in what is the most dangerous crisis to take place yet in My Hero Academia.
World Heroes' Mission is a polished theatrical entry in the MHA franchise with some genuinely stunning animation sequences — the action choreography and visual production from Studio Bones push the cinematography to a well-above-average level for anime films. The acting (both Japanese and English dubs) is solid and expressive, consistent with the series' quality. However, the plot is formulaic even by shonen movie standards: a doomsday cult, a falsely accused protagonist, and a ticking clock are well-worn devices that feel recycled without adding meaningful depth to the MHA lore. Novelty is low — the film is a competent but derivative standalone adventure that doesn't meaningfully expand or reinvent its source material's voice. The ending delivers satisfying action catharsis but resolves too neatly, with little lasting consequence.
