Transferred home after a traumatizing combat mission, a highly trained French soldier uses her lethal skills to hunt down the man who hurt her sister.
Sentinelle follows a fairly formulaic rape-revenge thriller template with a female soldier protagonist that doesn't fully capitalize on its military-PTSD angle. The plot is thin and predictable, offering little narrative depth beyond its basic revenge premise. Olga Kurylenko delivers a committed physical performance and carries the film on her presence alone, but the supporting cast is underutilized. Visually it's competent with decent Marseille location work but nothing distinctive. The revenge narrative itself is derivative of the genre, and the ending feels abrupt and unsatisfying, failing to meaningfully resolve the protagonist's trauma arc that was set up early in the film.
