After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.
Captain America: Brave New World is a mid-tier MCU entry that struggles across most dimensions. The plot is overly convoluted with underdeveloped political thriller ambitions, leaning on familiar MCU beats without much payoff. Acting is serviceable — Anthony Mackie is likable as Sam Wilson but the script gives him little to work with, and Harrison Ford's Red Hulk feels underutilized. Cinematography is competent but generic, lacking the visual flair of stronger MCU entries. Novelty is low given the formulaic structure, recycled conspiracy-thriller tropes, and a villain reveal that underwhelms — it feels derivative even within the franchise. The ending is rushed and unsatisfying, resolving threads too quickly without emotional resonance. Overall a below-average MCU installment that fails to capitalize on its political thriller premise.
