Everyone has 'moved on', except for Sherman and Jim Levenstein's still understanding father. Little Matt Stiffler wants to join his older brother Steve's business and, after everything Matt has heard from Jim's band-geek wife, he plans to go back to band camp and make a video of his own.
A formulaic direct-to-video spin-off that recycles the American Pie template with diminishing returns. The plot is a thin rehash of band camp hijinks built around hidden cameras and teenage sex comedy beats lifted wholesale from the original films. Acting from the largely unknown replacement cast is mediocre at best. Cinematography is flat and workmanlike, typical of low-budget DTV productions. Novelty is very low — this is a by-the-numbers cash-grab spin-off with no distinctive voice or conception of its own. The ending wraps up predictably with little earned emotional payoff.
