The Good, the Bart, and the Loki (2021)

Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating

Loki is banished from Asgard once again and must face his toughest opponents yet: the Simpsons and Springfield’s mightiest heroes. The God of Mischief teams up with Bart Simpson in the ultimate crossover event paying tribute to the Marvel Cinematic Universe of superheroes and villains.

The Quartile Take

This Disney+ short crossover special blends The Simpsons with the MCU's Loki, leaning heavily on parody and fan-service. The plot is thin even by short-form standards, essentially a series of Marvel cameo gags strung together without much narrative weight. The voice acting is solid — the returning Simpsons cast and Tom Hiddleston's self-aware Loki performance are genuine highlights. Cinematically it's standard Simpsons TV animation with some Marvel-inspired flourishes but nothing remarkable. Novelty is moderate — the Simpsons crossover format is well-worn at this point, though the MCU angle gives it a fresher hook than most. The ending wraps up predictably with little payoff beyond the joke of the premise itself.
