Quartile rating: 7/10 · 1 rating
A noir thriller set in Miami, the film follows an enforcer who discovers his femme fatale boss has branched out into cyber sex trafficking, putting a young runaway he’s befriended at risk. He sacrifices everything to save the young girl from the deadly organization he’s spent his life building.
The Enforcer (2022) is a competent but formulaic crime thriller. The plot hits familiar noir beats—conflicted enforcer, femme fatale boss, redemption through protecting an innocent—without adding much fresh perspective. Acting is serviceable but uneven; Antonio Banderas is watchable but the supporting cast struggles. The Miami cinematography provides some visual flair but rarely transcends genre conventions. Novelty is low as the premise largely recycles well-worn crime drama tropes. The ending delivers a predictable sacrificial resolution that satisfies genre expectations without surprising anyone.
