Salt-of-the-earth Cole falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie—but then makes the shocking discovery that she's a secret agent. Before they can decide on a second date, Cole and Sadie are swept away on an international adventure to save the world.
Ghosted is a formulaic action-rom-com that leans heavily on well-worn spy-meets-civilian tropes. The plot is predictable and derivative, borrowing liberally from films like True Lies and Knight and Day without adding much new. The chemistry between Ana de Armas and Chris Evans elevates the material somewhat, making the acting a relative bright spot, and the film is competently shot with decent production values. However, the novelty is low given how recycled the premise feels, and the ending wraps up too neatly and without surprise, reflecting the overall by-the-numbers execution of the project.
