Quartile rating: 5/10 · 1 rating
On Quartile, The Simpsons in Plusaversary scores 5/10 across five categories — strongest on Plot (Below Average).
The Simpsons host a Disney+ Day party and everyone is on the list… except Homer. With friends from across the service and music fit for a Disney Princess, Plusaversary is Springfield's event of the year.
Plusaversary is a light Disney+ promotional short that leans heavily on crossover fan-service, parading characters from various Disney properties through Springfield. The plot is a thin riff on Homer being excluded from a party — a well-worn Simpsons premise — giving it little narrative weight. The voice cast delivers competently, as expected from the long-running series veterans. Visually it has the polish of modern Simpsons animation with some fun Disney-themed staging, but nothing cinematically distinctive. Novelty is limited since the concept is essentially a corporate crossover advertisement dressed as a short, recycling familiar Simpsons dynamics. The ending wraps up predictably without much payoff beyond the spectacle.
