Strange World is a visually colorful but narratively underwhelming Disney animated adventure. The plot leans heavily on family-legacy clichés and a predictable twist about the nature of the strange world itself, making it feel formulaic despite its ambitious ecological message. The voice cast performs competently but without standout moments. The animation is vibrant and imaginative in its creature and world design, though it doesn't reach the visual heights of Disney's best work. Novelty is limited — the multi-generational explorer conflict and the 'world within a world' reveal feel recycled from other sci-fi and adventure properties, and the LGBT teen storyline, while welcome for representation, is handled without much depth. The ending resolves too neatly and the environmental allegory, though earnest, is heavy-handed rather than resonant.
