Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating
Hired to cover up a high-profile crime, a fixer soon finds his night spiralling out of control when he's forced to work with an unexpected counterpart.
Wolfs is a breezy but shallow buddy crime comedy that leans almost entirely on the star power of George Clooney and Brad Pitt reuniting on screen. The plot is thin and formulaic — a fixer-meets-fixer premise that never fully exploits its setup, with a predictable trajectory and a disappointing ending that feels anticlimactic rather than satisfying. The acting elevates the material considerably; both leads have undeniable chemistry and effortless charm that makes the film watchable despite its scripting deficiencies. Cinematography is competent and stylish in a slick, commercial way but nothing distinctive. Novelty is low — the concept of mismatched professional fixers is well-worn, and the film doesn't bring a fresh enough perspective or voice to distinguish itself beyond its casting. The ending in particular feels rushed and underdelivered, squandering goodwill built through the middle act.
