A message from Jim Morrison in a dream prompts cable access TV stars Wayne and Garth to put on a rock concert, "Waynestock," with Aerosmith as headliners. But amid the preparations, Wayne frets that a record producer is putting the moves on his girlfriend, Cassandra, while Garth handles the advances of mega-babe Honey Hornée.
Wayne's World 2 is a mostly by-the-numbers sequel that recycles the meta-humor and SNL sketch energy of the original without adding much new. The Waynestock concert premise is a serviceable but thin plot, and the film leans heavily on callbacks and cameos rather than fresh invention. Acting is serviceable with Myers and Carvey still charming in their roles, and Christopher Walken's appearance is a highlight. Cinematography is unremarkable TV-movie level. The ending attempts another multi-ending gag from the original but feels like a retread. Novelty is low given it largely duplicates the first film's formula.
