The Quartile Take

This French crime-romance follows a fairly well-trodden path of seduction-and-con artist territory, with attractive leads caught in a morally murky game. The plot is competent but predictable in its genre beats, offering little that distinguishes it from similar French caper-romance fare. Acting is serviceable with decent chemistry between leads but nothing that truly elevates the material. Cinematography captures the Côte d'Azur setting adequately without particular visual ambition. The ending feels somewhat abrupt and unsatisfying, failing to fully deliver on the dramatic or romantic tensions built throughout. Novelty is limited as the con-artist romance subgenre is well-worn, and this entry brings little fresh perspective to it.
