Milo and Kida reunite with their friends to investigate strange occurances around the world that seem to have links to the secrets of Atlantis.
Atlantis: Milo's Return is a direct-to-video sequel cobbled together from unproduced TV episodes, and it shows. The plot is episodic and disjointed, lacking the cohesive adventure of the original film. Animation quality is noticeably downgraded from the theatrical original, with flat, TV-level cinematography. The acting is serviceable but lacks the energy of the original cast. There is little novelty here — it retreads familiar Atlantis mythology across three loosely connected vignettes without a strong unifying narrative, and the ending feels abrupt and unsatisfying given its patchwork origins. A below-average follow-up that fails to capitalize on the world-building of its predecessor.
