When their daughter is abducted by experienced kidnappers, the Jennings turn the tables on their seemingly fool-proof plan.
Trapped is a competent but formulaic kidnapping thriller that follows well-worn genre conventions. The cat-and-mouse tension is serviceable and the performances from Charlize Theron and Kevin Bacon are solid enough to elevate standard material, but the film offers little visual distinction and its premise of turning-the-tables on kidnappers, while engaging, doesn't bring much that hasn't been seen before. The resolution is satisfying within genre expectations without being particularly memorable.
