On a trip to Colombia, a group of college students encounter a fifty-foot boa constrictor, hungry for blood.
Megaboa is a formulaic creature feature TV movie that follows the well-worn template of giant snake horror films (Anaconda, Python, etc.) with little to distinguish it. The plot offers nothing new — college students in a remote location hunted by an oversized serpent — and the acting and cinematography are typical low-budget TV fare. The ending resolves predictably. Its novelty score suffers most as it is entirely derivative of an already-crowded subgenre with no distinctive voice or craft to set it apart.
