A rock climbing adventure between two friends turns into a terrifying nightmare. After Kelly captures the murder of her best friend on camera, she becomes the next target of a tight knit group of friends who will stop at nothing to destroy the evidence and anyone in their way.
The Ledge is a competent but formulaic survival thriller that doesn't distinguish itself significantly from similar genre entries. The plot follows a predictable cat-and-mouse structure with the mountain setting providing its primary tension. The acting is serviceable but uneven, with performances failing to elevate the thin characterization. The cinematography is the film's strongest asset, making decent use of the Italian mountain locations and vertical terrain to generate genuine vertigo and visual tension. The premise of being hunted on a cliff face has been explored before and this execution doesn't add much new to the subgenre. The ending resolves in a fairly predictable fashion without delivering a particularly satisfying payoff.
