A collection of Monty Python's Flying Circus skits from the first two seasons of their British TV series.
A compilation of Monty Python's Flying Circus sketches reshot for cinema, this is essentially a greatest-hits package rather than a structured film — the 'plot' is nonexistent by design, and the cinematography is functional at best, a step up from TV but hardly cinematic. The acting is characteristically brilliant in the anarchic, committed Python style. Where it earns its keep is Novelty: the Pythons' surrealist, self-referential, gleefully absurdist comedy was genuinely singular and unlike anything else in comedy history. The ending, like much of the film, is deliberately anti-climactic and shaggy — fitting for Python but not a satisfying cinematic conclusion.
