The Quartile Take

Wrongfully Accused is a late-90s Leslie Nielsen spoof in the vein of his Naked Gun work, lampooning The Fugitive and other thriller staples. The plot is purely a scaffolding for gags with no real dramatic investment. Nielsen delivers his trademark deadpan competently, elevating the material somewhat. Cinematography is functional and unremarkable — standard comedy filmmaking with no visual ambition. Novelty is low: by 1998 the Nielsen spoof formula was well-worn and this film recycles the same structure and style as his earlier, sharper work. The ending wraps up mechanically without any memorable comic payoff. A passable entry in a tired subgenre.
