The Quartile Take

Enter the Dragon is a landmark film that essentially created the East-meets-West martial arts blockbuster template. Its Novelty is genuinely exceptional — blending Hong Kong kung fu cinema with Hollywood production values and a Bond-esque spy premise in a way that had never been done before and remains iconic. The plot is functional but thin, serving mainly as scaffolding for the fight sequences. Acting is uneven; Bruce Lee commands the screen but the supporting cast ranges from adequate to wooden. Cinematography is competent and occasionally stylish, particularly the mirror room finale. The ending action climax is exciting if somewhat abrupt, earning a solid above-average mark.
