A playboy has the tables turned on him when he finds himself being used as a plaything by an undesirable woman.

The Quartile Take

Álex de la Iglesia's darkly comic Spanish thriller is a genuinely distinctive beast — a gleefully savage satire of male vanity, consumer culture, and sexual politics set almost entirely in a department store. The premise (a smug playboy entrapped by the woman he least desires) is executed with a singular, anarchic energy and jet-black wit that marks it as unmistakably Iglesia. Plot and acting are solid genre-competent work, and the cinematography serves the garish retail setting well without being exceptional. The ending sustains the film's twisted logic satisfyingly. Novelty is the standout — very few films occupy quite this strange tonal space.
