Another Simple Favor is a sequel that largely coasts on the charm of its predecessor without adding much new to the formula. The Capri setting provides visual appeal and the cinematography captures the Italian scenery competently, but the whodunit plot is convoluted rather than clever, with twists that feel forced rather than earned. Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick reprise their dynamic with some energy, keeping the acting serviceable and occasionally fun, but neither is given material as sharp as the original. The novelty is low — it recycles the dark comedy mystery setup of the first film with diminishing returns, and the Italian mafia/evil twin elements feel like escalation for its own sake. The ending fails to land with satisfying payoff, wrapping up its many threads messily. Overall a forgettable follow-up that sits below the modest but genuine pleasures of the original.
