After an attack leaves him in limbo -- invisible to the living and also near death -- a teenager discovers the only person who might be able help him is his attacker.
The Invisible is a competent supernatural thriller with an intriguing premise borrowed from a Swedish film, centering on a teenager trapped between life and death. The plot has some emotional resonance but suffers from uneven pacing and familiar teen-drama trappings. Acting is generally weak, with performances feeling flat outside of Margarita Levieva's troubled antagonist, who brings the most energy. Cinematography is decent with some moody, atmospheric visuals that suit the limbo concept. Novelty is limited as it is a direct remake of Invisible (2002) and leans on well-worn YA supernatural thriller conventions without adding much new. The ending provides modest emotional payoff but feels rushed and somewhat predictable.
