Big Nothing is a darkly comedic crime thriller with a few decent twists and solid performances from Simon Pegg and David Schwimmer, though it never quite rises above being a competent but uneven black comedy. The blackmail plot has some fun escalations but loses steam, the cinematography is functional at best, and the ending delivers modest payoff without being truly memorable. Its quirky tone and cast keep it from being generic but it doesn't fully distinguish itself.
