Dona Hermínia is back, but now rich and famous since she is the host of her own successful TV show. However, the overprotective character will have to deal with her children's departures, as Marcelina and Juliano decide to move out. In counterpart, she will welcome, as a visitor, her sister Lúcia Helena, who's been living in New York.

The Quartile Take

My Mom Is a Character 2 is a Brazilian comedy sequel that follows the formula of its predecessor closely, bringing back Dona Hermínia in familiar overprotective-mother scenarios with some new settings. The plot is predictable and episodic, leaning on sitcom-style conflicts rather than building a compelling narrative arc. The acting, particularly from Paulo Gustavo reprising his iconic role, carries the film with energy and comedic timing. Cinematography is functional and TV-movie level, offering nothing visually distinctive. As a sequel, it largely recycles the humor and dynamics established in the first film without meaningfully expanding the universe or taking creative risks, keeping Novelty low. The ending wraps up tidily but without much emotional payoff beyond what audiences expect.
