The Quartile Take

Ficarra e Picone's Italian comedy follows a familiar fish-out-of-water premise as two Palermitan friends try their luck in the provinces during the economic crisis. The plot is serviceable but leans heavily on well-worn comedic tropes of the duo's established style, offering few surprises. The leads deliver their trademark chemistry and timing competently, though the material doesn't push them beyond their comfort zone. Cinematography is functional and unremarkable for the genre. The film adds little new to the Ficarra e Picone formula or Italian comedy broadly, making it more of a crowd-pleasing repeat than a fresh entry. The ending wraps up conventionally without much resonance.
